New grads job in Ontario

I got my RN license this February and since then I have sent out many applications through HFO, but nothing happened. I feel so confused and sad about this. Actually, my resume has been proofed by a job counsellor. I don't know what I can do now.

Does anyone have same experience and anything else could I do to get a job?

No results yet :(

I just went to the websites of LTC homes in my area and looked for the DON's e-mail address or a phone number if the DON's e-mail wasn't there and I'd call the main number and ask for their e-mail. Hope this helps :)

Thank you~

Specializes in ICU, ER.
Congratulations RecsueNinja, I am sure you will be offered something at both of these places. Glad to hear that something came up so quickly. I am sure the hospitals will open up eventually too.

Thank you :) I was offered casual during my second interview (apparently they don't hire any nurse to a posting right away - just casual). So as long as my references are good (I'm confident they are) it's mine. I was shocked! I think the DON from the first interview will offer me casual too, but she's checking my references before letting me know.

Specializes in Geriatrics, Med-Surg..

Best of luck to you RescueNinja. I am sure you will do just fine and that things will open up at the hospitals eventually. This provincial government has to get it together soon and start turning on the taps.

I agree! It seems like everyone is talking about it, but no one is actually doing anything. So frustrating!

This is normal, just done give up! I have just posted a similar comment to another blog about jobs, have your resume on nursingcareerscanada.ca webstie.. it is doing well!
