New Grads Finding RN Jobs?

How many BScN graduates are having a hard time finding work in British Columbia after graduation? Based on these forums it seems as though there are mostly just casual positions available?

I will be graduating in 2014 with a BScN degree from UVIC, and I prefer to work in a rural area, the more secluded the better! (to a point haha) Now I am worried it will be difficult to find a full-time job upon graduation!

I think your goals of working full time M-F 8-4 with weekends off and "rural - the more secluded the better" are mutually exclusive.

I recall many months working 14 hour shifts with few days off working rural. That's the norm in many rural locations because few places use contract nurses and they're all working as a skeleton crew.

Great for saving money and learning various skills. Some people cannot handle rural life for various reasons.
