New Grads applying international students in AUS/NZ

Published

what are the easier ways to land a working permit in Aus or NZ aside from taking the BP/CAP initially? what if newly grad nurses enroll for a health related vocational course that qualifies them a skilled job that is in the Aus/NZ skilled workers shortage list?

any views regarding this matter?:coollook:

Just exactly, vocational health care job are you thinking of applying.

IMHO - it is a quick way of entering Australia and seeing 'what happens''.

What are you aiming for - cert 3 aged care worker or a community health worker or enrolled nursing. You do realise that there may be problems in getting a student visa for this if you already have a degree in nursing....just giving information I got from someone that tried this. Had masters in acccounting and tried to get into the country with a student visa to do cert 4 in accounting.

You will not be able to save up the money to do the bridging course on a pca's wages and live as well.

With all the changes they are saying Australia only lacks in professional experienced health workers, who knows how long they will allow people to do this vocational cert 2+3 and then allow employers to sponsor internationals with just with these certificates.

Know of someone with cert 3 aged care in Melbourne = international, cannot get job, no one will sponsor, employers now have to prove that local cannot be found or trained to sponsor such a low certificate course employee.

hmmm. so this would be the case. glad i knew it before stepping into any plans. thanks. sorry if it sounded stupid. i admit i know nothing about these stuff, just started researching and still so much questions in mind, like this one. i just thought what if, errr. its good that you said those things. thanks a lot ceridwyn.

is it true that second coursers have lesser chance of getting an eligibility for the BP?

They must have full transcripts of first degree to show AHPRA, after all you have been given credit for this degree towards the nursing one.

AHPRA must see just what subjects you were given credit. If you have a two year nursing degree and you need to have equivelant of a 3 year nursing degree - with nothing but nursing subjects and I might add after 13 years of schooling. they need to see what subjects you were given credit for, even if they are not nursing subjects, they must be of Australian university standard, not folk dancing or national service, only type subjects.

since i finished my 2 degrees in the same university, all the subjects i finished were consolidated in one TOR. i carried out some minor subjects but just the same i completed my nursing degree in 4 years full time (except on my first year where in i only have 2 subjects in each semester).

thanks again ceridwyn :D
