Hi, I have been searching the internet hi and low to find out the starting hourly rate or salary for a new grade RN. Does it depend on the specialty you chose to work in? I am aware that it will vary from facility to facility but an average range would be nice. I am due to graduate soon and I am actively looking for good nurse extern program or a good new grad program. I am interested in icu and operating room nursing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Banner has a great training program for the OR. Their pay is higher than CHW, but their benefits aren't as good. New grads in Dec started at 24.50 at Banner and 24.10 at Mercy and Chandler Regional. St. Joes (also a CHW) started new grads at something like 23.60, I just know it was less than MG and CR. CHW offers 20% shift dif and 10% weekends, Banner offers 20% shift dif, but no weekend dif.
HTH,
PS things may have changed, this is what they were when I was looking in December
Thank you so much for your response! Im still looking around for a hospital to work in I have done clinicals at chandler and I like county hospital better so far but we will see?
