New Grad Soon

Hello everyone!

I will be graduating from nursing school this coming year in May of 2018. (Yay!)

My fiancé and I plan to get married in September of 2018, a couple months after I graduate.

Is this too much stress as a new nurse or is this manageable? We've been together for years now and live together. We specifically planned to get married after nursing school, however we were worried about how my schedule might be as a new grad.

Thank you!

Well around that time you will probably be applying to jobs or have just started. Depending when you decide to take nclex.

For nclex you will need to dedicate time to studying, more than your exit exam really. Simply because you don't know what's on it , you need to study a wide variety of things. I personally took 2 months to study and the 2 weeks before I was off work and studied everyday. So kee that in mind, that around that time is nclex, OR you will have just got licensed and hen maybe apply to jobs before the wedding and then make your start date after honeymoon?

I guess it all depends too on how big of a wedding you guys are having?

Will you need to do a lot of planning? Try to plan on your winter break as much as you can. You shouldn't let that take over your study time regardless of nclex or not while in school now too because this is also your future...

What kind of schedule concerns you and your fiance?

I think you'll be ok... life is kind of just one period of adjustment after another, after all...but definitely talk over any specific concerns with your fiancé.
