U.S.A. Maryland

Published

Hey nursing friends. Anybody know what the pay rate is for the Nurse Residency Program at Baltimore Washington Medical Center?? I have an interview there next week. Has anybody else been interviewed yet and if so how did it go? Also, does anybody work there or know anyone who works there and have any idea about nurse satisfaction? Thanks in advance.

~Blessings

I actually went to a university in MI called Andrews University. My husband and I recently moved here for his job so MD is new to me. In regards to which area of nursing I want to work in, I am very much interested in ED, OR and OB but I have no idea where I will end up :). What about you for both questions missstekaboo?

Well, I graduated from Harford Community College in Bel Air. My school is pretty small, so I enjoyed the close feel of my program. I really like med-surg, so I am pretty open to anything. I would love to see how a PACU nurse functions. I have a friend from Michigan, and she was always getting so much snow! Sometimes we get snow, but most years it is never more than a few inches at a time. I did an OR experience in my 2nd semester. I think a nurse could learn so much from the surgeons and anesthesiologist as an OR nurse.

Where did your friend go to college? I can relate with coming from a small program. My graduating class consisted of 28 students. We were very close which was a huge blessing. Best wishes today when you go to the hospital. I have been trying to get in contact with David but he doesn't answer his phone. I also left a message last week and have not heard back from him yet. It's all in God's hands now.

Hi, I am going to pm you!

Any updates about their program info? I have an interview tomorrow and I just want to know if it is going to be worth my time. Thanks everyone and I hope you've done well on the Nclex and I wish you much luck and success in your job search.

Well I don't know about you, but I've realized that the job market is really tough for new grads especially if you don't have experience as a PCT or Nurse Tech. As for me, I will take any job offer I can get. The program is about 2 months long and is on a Med Surg unit. They say if you do well throughout the program you will more than likely have an easy time getting a job at their facility afterwards. Blessings to you as well. Hope your interview goes well.

How did your interview go jujubeanRN?

It went well, 15 minutes after I left the recruiter called me and invited me back to interview with the unit manager today, she told me that they have hired 6 and need to hire 4 more and the start date is on Oct 1st. I was told that they will have selected the 10 new grads to start on Oct by this Friday. I'm crossing my fingers and I hope that today's interview goes well.

Oh that's exciting!! When are you meeting with the unit manager? She is on Med Surg right? I also meet with manager today at 130pm. It is all in God's hands.

i interviewed on 6s which i think is med surg/oncology. The interview went really well but I didnt get to do the peer to peer interview because there were a lot of things going on with the nurse that does the peer to peer interviews. They were really busy, and I am keeping my finger crossed that we both get hired! I hope your interview went welll!!!

And yes you are right, its is all in God's hands and I truly hope and pray that he leads us both down the path laid out for us.

Hi guys

I just passed my board as well. I am in desperate to find a job and willing to move to different state. I have an active Hawaii license and very much willing to endorse to the states where they accept new grad who recently passed nclex. Any feed back on how to apply to Baltimore Washington Medical center? I need guidance on where to start. Any help is very much appreciated.
