I started looking for jobs about 4 months after I got my license. I needed some time off. First place I interviewed didn't take me. It crushed me but I found out it's because they wanted more experience.
Most places wanted experience and the ones that did not were nursing homes. I finally got a second interview and the place hired me immediately. I took it because I didn't want to be unemployed any longer. But it I'm afraid I won't like it as much. Not to mention they are giving me nights and weekend schedule. idk if I should wait or just take it for the experience.

The first couple of years suck immensely because you have to work in places you don't want to be and at times you don't like. This may sound like "old nurse preaching," but the first new nurse job is sort of a right of passage. My first job was in the place I wanted, but it was only a 0.2 FTE position. I made ends meet by doing volunteer ambulance work. Finally, two years later, the HR nurse walked up and asked if I wanted full time. Just grit your teeth and dig in and do the best you can. The time will pass quickly. You will be rewarded and the reward is the word "experience." It's a very valuable thing.

Ummmm, were you not aware that nursing schedules almost always include weekends? And day shifts are usually premium so you frequently have to work for awhile before you can switch? What exactly were your expectations?
I was hoping it would rotate with 'every other weekend' amongst the other employees
Would you mind describing the schedule they were offering?
Every weekend 3-11 or 11-7 shifts
I asked if there was a possibility of it being every other weekend and rotating amongst employees. The supervisor said that they would eventually accommodate me but was vague on when exactly. Said it would be weekend nights for next few weeks. I asked if he had a rough idea of when exactly they would start rotating weekend shifts he said wasn't sure but for next 4 weeks it was a definite.
