From what I can tell NYP has only been hiring new grads who had their clinical rotations there or worked there while they were students. If you have a connection to the hospital that may change things though. They also don't have formal residency programs to apply to anyway. They will hire new grads into specialty areas if the managers are willing to take new grads. Good luck with your job search!

You could get your TX license first then get NY through endorsement or take the NCLEX and apply. Regarding relocating to NYC. Do not come unless you have a job offer. Competition for new grad positions is insane. Even with experience, it's difficult to find employment without connections. I suggest other areas of the state such as Albany, Syracuse, Rochester for now.

As far as licensing, I have no idea.
However, I can shed some light on NYC nurse pool. I am sure you are aware that NYC is ultra competitive for all RNs seeking a job in the Big Apple. Many to find a residency program, just try to search individual websites of the hospitals you wish to apply to. I know that NYU has a residency program. Presbyterian at Columbia as one too. However, they mostly hire from Columbia SON graduate pool.
