I graduated in May 2012, passed NCLEX in July and still haven't gotten any calls for an interview. This totally sucks. I do understand that people who have their foot in their door working as a tech have priority , or those who "know" someone in the field who can make a recommendation have a better chance, but this is so unfair. There are plenty of openings, and it's like why don't you just give a chance to the ones who are unfortunate enough to not "know" someone or have a job in a hospital. What are the rest of us supposed to do with our degree? If there is a big demand for nurses and you truly mean it, then stop falsely advertising people into the career. May be the employers who say nursing is a secure field and you can find a job easily should also put up a banner that says" WE can only apply that sentence to someone who is already working for our facility or can be recommened." ....this is making me so frustrated , but end of the day I know God has a plan....I know I have to be patient and see what he has in line for me. A job offer may not occur in the time that I want it to happen, I have to wait for God's will. I'm just afraid I"m going to start forgetting my skills. :-( I guess I'll patiently wait some more. I thought passing Nclex was the biggest hurdle of my life, know it seems like Passing nclex was ten times easier than finding a job.

I passed my boards last week. Yesterday I called the nurse recruiter at the hospital I did my student nurse preceptorship. I let her know that I passed my boards and would love to work at the hospital. She offered me an interview for today. So maybe make some phone calls to follow up on resumes that you have submitted? Best of luck to you.
Thank you, that's good advice. :-D

It truly is frustrating.. I have been applying like crazy, sadly, to avail.. Just gotta hang in there. We will get one soon enough.. Good advice by the way.. I called a few places yesterday, and one of the recruiters took my name down and said she'd "screen" my resume and possibly forward it to the hiring manager... Fingers crossed!
