New Grad RN.... In need of serious help!!

Hello everyone ! I'm new to this site and I need some advice. I'm a newly licensed RN, and I CAN'T FIND A JOB !! I think I've applied to just about every hospital in Northern, MA and Boston. I'm wondering if there are any other new grads having the same problem I'm having?? I know I should be more patient, but.... I thought there was this thing called a nursing shortage... we'll apparently not in Boston and not for new grads LOL :) Anyway, maybe if I hear success stories from others I'll feel better! If anyone could let me know of any places currently hiring new grads, I'll be so appreciative for the information. Thanks :)

I totally understand how you guys feel. I went through the same thing a couple of months ago...check out previous posts in this forum...hang in there, you will find a job. There is a shortage of nurses but there's also a shortage of experienced nurses on the floor to precept new nurses. Keep trying, don't get discouraged. I know it's not easy, but things will turn around for you.

I am new to this board. It was shocking to me that there are new grad RN's can't land a job, i thought that it's easy to get a job as a nurse. I came from the Philippines and I know USA hires hundreds of nurses(maybe thousands) from my country a year.

I am new to this board. It was shocking to me that there are new grad RN's can't land a job, i thought that it's easy to get a job as a nurse. I came from the Philippines and I know USA hires hundreds of nurses(maybe thousands) from my country a year.

The USA has plenty of opportunities for nurses, its just that some areas of the country are in more of a need for nurses than others. Unfortunately, there is no shortage of new grad RNs in the Boston area. Some hospitals had around 600 applicants for just a few new graduate positions this spring However, there are many positions available for experienced nurses in the area.
