I finished my ASN program in July, Passed my boards in October am working on my BSN online, and I have applied to hundreds of positions and no such luck. I love California, but I did not work so hard for my license to just keep it in my wallet. I have no kids and I am not married, so although my family would miss me, moving is an option for me. Any suggestions where to? How to go about it? and if you have any leads that you are willing to inbox me about, Please share. This waiting game is making me very discouraged.
Have u tried rehab hospitals? Riverside county?
I did get a job back in February for a SNF with a rehab wing. I split after two weeks, with sparks on my heels. I refuse to work in another SNF or "rehab hospital." A 30:1 ratio of patients is unsafe; I don't care what anyone says. I am not going to risk my license for some greedy company.
Bakersfield is more friendly to new grads but the HR dept's don't like out of townersmand will hire locals first. They average 60 hires every December and May. San Joaquin just had a mass exodus and are looking for people. It's a nice facility but going through growing pains. You also have to sign a 3 yr contract at all dignity hospitals and SJCH. Cali only has a 4-1 pt nurse ratio no 5:1. You can expect around $28 an hour.

You and are in a very similar position, although I graduated with my ADN in May 2012 and only have one class remaining to complete my BSN.
I have applied from coast to coast, in small towns and big cities. No luck. However, I did recently start the process of getting my Texas license. I'm hoping that having it IN HAND will give me a little edge when I apply there.
You and I should stay in touch! Drop me a PM if you want.
