Starting this discussion for anyone who has applied for the Children's Dallas/Plano Feb 2026 new grad residency. Lets keep each other updated :] Good luck guys!

Yeah maybe all of the critical care units haven't said anything.

True, but Gen peds isn't critical care. Next week is when they're supposed to start interviews so it feels weird to not hear anything.

Did the hospital explicitly say interviews would be next week? Because I have a friend who works there and did the program and she said she didn't hear back until 3 weeks to a month after her screening process.

Yeah, I went to the online informational meeting in August and they said interviews will be Sept 23rd-25th. The screening process was due 9/3 three weeks from that would be 9/24. But maybe we still won't hear anything for another 1-2 weeks after that?

Oh I didn't attend that. I guess we have to keep waiting and see!

If you don't hear anything by today that means you weren't selected by a unit to interview I went through this 3 times so far. Back in Feb applied got to the screening but no interview. May got to the screening and then an interview but wasn't hired. Doing it again now for the third time and interviewing for my dream unit. It's THAT competitive guys. 

The rejection email will come a week or two after offers have been sent out but if you want to check your status in the online portal it will change to no longer being considered. I know it sounds harsh but it gave me peace of mind when I was wracking my brain anticipating a response.

I can't imagine doing this 3 times. My application still says "under review,” but yeah I probably didn't get selected for an interview. Good luck on your interview next week! Hopefully you get an offer this time. Are you applying to any other hospitals?
