new grad with no previous experience struggling to get accepted to new grad programs

Published

Hello, I am a new grad nurse with no prior nursing experience. I just got my license back in August of this year. I have been applying for new grad programs but they all seem to pick other people which makes sense they most likely have more experience than I do.

At times I feel so discouraged because I feel like nobody will ever give me a chance. Is anyone feeling the same? any recommendations ?

I have thought about volunteering.

Oh wow that makes no sense to me. I’m so sorry you’re having a hard time! Some hospitals like Cedars Sinai require that you have no previous experience since it’s a program for new grads only. So weird! Well nonetheless, don’t give up! Keep trying!

OMG I tried to apply to that program and within hours it was closed! I was so sad. were you able to apply?  oh I won't give up ! I hope you get lucky !!

I haven’t yet because I haven’t taken NCLEX yet and they want you to have your RN license before you apply. I’m going to apply in March because I’m still waiting for my ATT. How soon after you graduated did you get your ATT?

if im not mistaken about 1 month, but thats because they told us to apply for it in advance. I def recommend you to use UWorld and to listen to the audios form this guy > http://www.cold-clutches.com/the-real-original-free-mark-klimek-NCLEX-review-audio-downloads/

I passed on the first try thanks to these two materials. Mark K is amazing !!

to be honest I don't know. I know UCLA opened their new grad and they were offering I believe $48. The rest do not specify.
