When I lived in the Central Valley, I had to commute more than 100 miles to remain employed. As unfortunate as it seems, you might need to expand your job search radius to include hospitals and nursing homes in places such as Modesto, Stockton, Visalia, Hanford, Delano, and even as far south as Bakersfield.
Good luck to you. I know the feeling of being unemployed, and I really don't want to ever experience it again.
Kaweah Delta has a critical care internship for new grads. So does Tulare Regional Medical Center. I know of a new grad that was just hired in L & D at Clovis Community. There are jobs but they are competitive. I graduated last Dec. and got hire straight into public health. You need to find a way to sell yourself. Something that will make your application different from other new grads. Get a certification in the field you want to work in and write a really good cover letter. Good luck.

Hi, Im a new grad nurse from fresno and STILL looking for a job. Ive read most of the forums here and I seem to relate to the new grad nurses as well. Can anyone please help me find residency programs around here or hospitals that are willing to hire new grads besides CRMC? Ive also tried skilled nursing facilities but no luck either. please help!
