New Grad, Need Advice!!!

Published

I am a new grad in northern NJ. The market is really difficult out there. Ive been applying for positions since i graduated in may. ive received a ton of rejection letters telling me i do not qualify. i have my BSN, and finally got a job offer last week but its a contract for three years at a SNF. the starting pay is $22 per hour. at this point i am very desperate for a job. should i take this job? am mostly worried about the contract because if i break the contract i have to pay $3000 for training and should i accept $22? am i selling myself short? need advice please!

What's the cost of living like? If it's do-able, I'd take the job. Making money is better than not, right?

there is no cost of living because am still living with my parents. i don't plan to move out until i've saved enough to make it out on my own. as far as expenses i would have to pay for gas which would cost me over $60 a week. I know i really need the money but the three year contract! they will own me for three years. its like am paying to get SNF experience, $3000 if i don't stay for three years.

I'd be hard pressed to recommend signing a 3 year contract at a SNF. But if jobs are hard to come by in your area and you're unwilling to relocate then that may not be such a bad deal.
