there are many hospitals in the bay area that are hiring new grads. do you a search around your area, submit your applications, and talk to the nurse recruiters and make yourself known. you should not have a problem at all. worse case scenario is that you'll have to start out in another area, but you could easily do an in-house trasfer to the NICU after a few months or when an opening becomes available. best of luck and congratulations on making it this far through your schooling!
Click on the thread below to put things in perspective. Yes, there's a major surplus of new grads in the SF Bay area. There are too many new grad RNs with not enough jobs for every person who would like to work.

I'm going to be done with school in October and taking the NCLEX soon after. I'm currently looking at relocating to the bay area and I'm interested in NICU new grad programs. I'm been looking into the Lucile Packard Children's Hospital program in Palo Alto and was wondering if anybody has any advice on this or other programs in the area?? Also, any advice on where to look for housing would be appreciated. I've heard the bay area in general is expensive so if there are other new grads in that area that could let me know how it's going or are looking for roommates-I'd appreciate any input.
