I'm about to graduate from my ADN in Puerto Rico:yeah: and I need to know what can I do to become licensed in CT as I'm planning to move to Stamford CT. And I was wondering about new grads salary, and if theres a good chance to get hired as a new grad, I've been searching the web for some answers but its becoming pretty hard to get the info that I'm looking for like do I need to be licensed in Puerto Rico to take the NCLEX or do I simply take the NCLEX here in PR and then apply for a license in CT, also how long does it take to actually get licensed( do they tell you right away or is it a long process). I want to know this things because I would like to start working right away and move before September( I graduate in May). If anyone could help me out I would be so thankful. Thanks for taking the time to read this:bugeyes:

In what capacity are you obtaining a visa to work in the US? Be aware of retrogression of which much has been written already on and affects all foreign nurses. Not sure if ADN will meet visa requirements. I doubt you will meet timeframe you are looking at as you need to meet requirements of BON as foreign trained nurse which can take anything from 4 months onwards before receiving permission to sit NCLEX

PR is a US territory just like Guam is and they possess a US passport.
You will need to apply for licensure to the state that you are interested in. Please be aware that you will need to pass the series of English exams as well as take the NCLEX exam. It is the same exam that is offered in PR as is on the mainland.
