New grad....job searching...pregnant

I am a new grad...yea....but i am hesitant to begin job searching immediately b/c i am almost seven months pregnant. I would love to work some now but I am afraid of getting rejected for jobs b/c of being pregnant. I can still do the job I need to do...I did it in the last weeks of clinicals....but the real world is different and ppl will make their own decisions before I can prove myself. What do you think I should do? Should I wait until the baby gets here or should I begin job searching now?

You could ask to interview and tell them you plan on taking off 3 months (or whatever you need) before actually starting. Thenk you wouldn't be starting off and having to leave so quickly. They may offer you a position that starts in the future. I don't know how open minded employers are toward someone obviously nearing term but who knows. I just think that you should take a good rest, have a healthy baby, then apply for work. Congrats on both!

I think you should look for a job that doesn't start before the birth of your child. Enjoy your pregnancy. If you can get helped financially, just relax!

I'd wait until after the baby. Your orientation will be about 3 months and while on the probation period, you can only call in x amount of times before they let you go. You don't know how you will feel in the next few months and the end of the pregnancy is harder to be on your feet for 8-12 hours at a time. Also, you may have to orient on an off shift and that may be hard for you too. Enjoy your last few months of pregnancy and then go job hunting after the baby is born. :) Also, most places will only allow you 6-8 weeks after you have a baby because you don't qualify for FMLA at this point. With my first I had to go back after 6 weeks and it was awful.
