  2. Hi, We just had our meeting with our advisor and we are 6 in the acute care track (one in pediatric care and 5 in adult care). The program is great and eye-opening on many levels: complexity of the human body, death, work collaboration on the unit, communication... The program is extremely intense this first quarter: around 38 hours of class/week (3 days of school and 2 days of clinical), 1 to 3 exams a week. "A few advice for the next MEPN students: start doing community service 1 or 2 years before the application deadline, do a lot of research to know exactly where you are going (it will help the day of the interview), high GPA is better, my GRE scores were bad , learn a second language (Spanish highly recommended), get strong recommendation letters from people you know well (volunteer coordinator, nurse practitioner you volunteered with...), and most of all be confident." Good Luck!
  3. Thanks for your replies...

  5. You are right! I have time for the books. I got a little too excited after I got my letter of acceptance in March!

  8. I am a finalist for the MEPN at UCSF too. Good luck to all of you and Happy New Year!
  9. Hi, Congrat to all of you! I am applying to the MEPN program at UCSF in a month. I work on my application since October 2005 and am almost ready to apply. I only have my goal statement to write. Here is the dilemna. I have a high GPA, a lot of community service experiences, language skills, and strong recommendation letters. BUT I am not a Native English speaker and I am struggling with the GRE (especially the verbal)! I took it last week but I think my verbal scores are too low. Maybe I should take it again next month? Any advice? What were your GRE scores? Thanks

  12. Nobody is talking about their GRE scores so I thought it will be nice to start a new thread. It may interest students applying to MEPN programs! Did you get in the MEPN program at UCSF? What were your GRE scores (V, Q, Writting)? Are you a prospective student? What score did you get on the GRE if you already passed it? ...
