New grad job offer conundrum

Got a job offer from my #2 choice and they will need an answer before I will most likely receive any news of a job offer from my #1 choice. Do I tell #2 that I will accept, just in case #1 doesn't offer me a job?

Btw, I am almost a new grad at ECU College of Nursing in NC. Most of our class of 100+ students are already hired and we still have to graduate and take the NCLEX! The job market here is good right now.

Specializes in Family Nurse Practitioner.

Yes, take the sure offer before the maybe job.

Specializes in critical care ICU.

As a new nurse, take the first one (unless you were lucky enough to get 2 offers simultaneously!). Once you get some experience in, then you could transfer to your #1 choice. But who knows? Maybe your #2 choice will become your #1. Congrats on the offer, it must be a relief.

Update! I got a job offer last week from my #1 and accepted. I did call #2 and thanked them for the opportunity, etc. Glad this is all over with! Thanks for the replies everyone.
