Hi. I'm a new grad and am interviewing at a local hospital for a position on a hospice/palliative care unit. I'd love any advice on what to expect when working on such a unit. Suggestions for questions to be ask during my interview are appreciated as well.
I'm very excited about this possible position because I believe it will give me an opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of my patients and their families.
Thanks!

I started off in hospice. Good luck! I am not in curative care because i wanted to expand my skill base but you will see and learn a lot in that unit.
Thank you evolvingrn. I think my interview went well today and it seems I would learn a lot on the unit. I go back to shadow on the floor tomorrow so I should get a better feel of it.

Hi I am about to graduate from an RN program. I am very interested as a Hospice Nurse. Tell what skils as a new grad on a hospice floor you find you needed/wanted more of? Can you give me any advice about getting hired to a hospice unit.
