New Grad Friendly RN Positions?

U.S.A. Massachusetts

Published

Hi everyone! Some insight and motivation needed!

I recently finished/graduated from an accelerated BSN program last Summer and passed boards in December.

I understand the job market is tough in the state, especially if you don't have that many connects in the industry or any experience as a CNA, but i'm still looking for a job that's new-grad friendly.

I've searched hospital listings, nursing homes, rehabs, etc. and I've recently expanded my job search to surrounding states (VT, NH, CT) but still no dice.

Any recommendations or leads?

Have you looked into residency programs? These are specifically for new grad nurses. Being from CT I know they have plenty, and so does MA from the postings I saw when I was job searching. Now would probably be the time to apply for July/September residency start dates.

I am from Massachusetts. Vibra hospital is a good place for new grads (one in New Bedford, Worcester, and Springfield). Vibra is long term acute care so you will have patients on vent support, trachs, needing blood transfusions, IV's, gastric tubes, central lines/juglar lines, etc. Its a great place to start if you want to transition to a bigger hospital. I've worked at one of them for 6 months now and just got hired at a local community hospital (passed boards June 2015). I worked at a nursing home for 3 months before that. Good luck!!
