New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

World Registration

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

I cant send u pm coz your inbox is full...

Hello, thanks for the reply. I would like to know when is your scheduled intake for ACFE melbourne?when are you leaving?Did you apply by just by yourself? or you have an agency to help you out? How much is the tuition fee at ACFE? Do you have filipino friends who are on the same batch as you. I am enrolled in ETEA located in Heidelberg Victoria, just 20 mins drive from ACFE melbourne.. I would like to know if you know somebody who is enrolled in ETEA as well. . what about the accommodation when you get there? Is it possible for me to contact you just in case, even though we are not on the same school, just to have some Filipino companions later on.

Hoping for your reply... Thanks again... God Bless..

Hi! Sorry wasn't able to notice my full inbox. Hehe. Anyway, my class in ACFE will start on june 25. I'm leaving the country on the 19th. A bit early coz I have to visit my aunt in Sydney first. I'll be in Melbourne by the 22nd. I did the processing of everything by myself. Just did a lot of research, and of course with the help of this forum :)

Tuition fee at ACFE is AUD 12,500. I don't know any Filipino friends who are on the same batch as me, which is why I'm a little scared. Haha.

As for the accommodation, I will be living in the graduate house of the Univ of Melbourne. A relative of mine recommended the place :)

Hello huyz! Can anyone help me in how to lodge the 456 visa? thnx!

You can lodge your application either through the VIA centers in Cebu or Makati, or through courier. You can check this website: via.ph, or immi.gov.au :)

hi migraineattack!

my case officer has not updated me yet..but i think i will not be exempted from taking the bp..=)

Yes im from philippines. How can i have my visa stamped on my passport? It just arrived yesterday and im scheduled to leave this weekend.

Oh, best wishes to you cheska! You can send off your passport to the nearest VIA centre near you. But if you are departing this weekend then there would be no time for the stamping.

Thanks. It's more than 9 months before I receive my loe. The good thing is that I don't need to undergo bp anymore. I'm thankful that the waiting is over & it's job hunting time:w00t:

Yes.. That's really a blessing :) patience is a virtue indeed :) with God, everything is possible :) goodluck to your job hunting :)

Yes xxxl, rest assured that as a practising RN in Australia you will be able to reimburse your investors with every penny they are going to loan to you. :)

thanks meki for the assurance, haha i'll do my best if ever i take the BP

Hello sir.. :) really? You mean i can lodge my application to AHPRA right away?

That's what i have in mind too.. I do not have enough experience to offer my future employers..which also means my CV can be almost empty.. :(

Hmmm is it that tough to find a job after completing BP? If i can apply at AHPRA even without experience, do you think it's a good idea for me? Please enlighten me :)

I'm on the same boat, well I have found some hospital to train. Hopefully they will take me in immediately :cross-finger:[so as to fill my 3 months exp]

@Angelslove congrats on your LOE cheers, a new chapter awaits

yes i think thats possible for you. i have batchmates who applied to BP right after they grad and they are working fine as nurse in Perth. as to my friend's cousin, he doesnt have any experience at all but he's in canberra an*ICU nurse now. i just wonder how they make it really quick.. but money works was surely part of it.. hope we can get thru this too :)

i really wish i pass ielts this time. i always fell a point short with reading...

@ stacey, is it really ok if we don't have exp.? TIA

and to all whose waiting, keep your chin up. patience is really a virtue, it shall come in due time ^^ good day

i'm doing ok, dear :) trying to beat IHNA's deadline within this week and hopefully i can finally pay their initial deposit of 1500 then i can start with the e-course. things have slowed down a bit for me since 1st week of June, while waiting for my funds that is, plus the fact that i'm still employed. how about you? still working?

how are things going on with you, dear?

hey :D i havent started with my 456 visa..i did my varicella immunization first then after 4 weeks i will do the rest of the vaccines. i also did my Mantoux test and hep b titer. i already had measles before but i could not prove it without serology.. better accept the jabs.. oh, by the way, do we need the meningocox? it says for nurse west agency only (what is that?)

i did try browsing the elearning recently it was .. ehem well not so simple..expansive, just say a big body of knowledge. hu hu hu i hope our brain cells can still work.

i resigned last jan 31, 2012 for my ielts exam..took it 3x cos i didn't know IHNA allows 6.5 in some of the components.

yeah you better save the slot you have cos its hard to go into a BP intake within the year and you deserve it. :)

Hi all. I just want to know what is evidence of continuous professional practice?

hey guys!

did all of you take your ielts in IDP? is british council not recommendable? i heard BC rates their examinees questionably ..is this true????

is there someone here who took ielts in BC? feedback plz...tnx guys! ;D

hmm..took mine at BC, got my loe this month. no problems i guess. :p

The October session of IHNA has been preponed to 24th September 2012. IHNA mailed me saying this and also assured for further update but havent heard anything from then since. Anyone for the same intake? I'm growing suspicious, what if they completely cancel the intake I'm supposed to study? Have already paid the enrolment fee and e-learning fee. I haven't found anyone going for the same intake. Am I the single candidate here who chose the "doubtful" October session?:banghead:

Hi.. IHNA usually offers position for earlier intake especially when you have already complied of the payments and requirements. They do that to fill in vacant slots for the earlier intakes

Hi, ilove83080. Please share the prices of serology test. Thanks! Hope you dont mind.

hallooo ilove83080! :) i think you can have the MMR shots anytime soon, one forumer even said she got hers all in one day (well except for the 2nd doses, that is). i had a PPD already back in March, do you think this will still do considering i'll be in on August? Are they particular about the 6 months' validity of the PPD? for the meningocox, grasyosa said this is not needed anymore but you have to get the MRSA clearance via nose/throat swab.

when do you plan to do your 456, dear? i keep forgetting your intake? will you be in the august perth intake?

will pay the 1500 within this week =) so come weekend i can start with the ecourse, and yeah, i've heard that it's not a walk in the park. grrrr..

have you found a place where to stay during the BP? i haven't yet. can't find someone i know of in melbourne =( but noelle18 mentioned that the Univ has a good place, i'll ask where is this exactly located :)

thanks dear! we all deserve to be happy and successful in our chosen career =) God bless and hope to hear from you again :)
