Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses
Hi all! I have been reading this thread for a while now per advice of my brother who is in Queensland now working as a CCU nurseI just would like to ask where is the best place or the best state to send my application to..my brother told me to send it to queensland but i 've read here that Western Australia processing is fast or is it more or less the same with queensland? and if i send my application to WA, can I work in Queensland after the Bridging Program ? thank you so much!
If you passed your application to WA and intend to work in Queensland that's just fine because as you know, all of the state boards are all merged into one, which is AHPRA so your registration in WA is recognized all over Australia. I already have my eligibility from WA but I will do my BP in NSW and most probably work there too or in Melbourne.
Hi guys!Just received my eligibility letter today. Yipee! :) Thank God I did not have to wait that long.... Anyone out there who is in the process of finding a BP school to enroll to? I need a companion. :) please PM me.
Congrats!
I told you so Western Australia is really fast in processing. I really recommend WA for new applicants. There are no complications like sending of additional docs. You will just be surprised.
For BP, I recommend CON they will have their next intake in September. They are fast in replying to queries.
it's just an inquiry, so that to show that they are doing something.. if you have a post-graduate degree (master's degree) then you should comply with said required documents.. otherwise, just chill, bachelor's degree is the minimum requirement.. you'll be fine..
Thanks so much cioman94! Hoping I get my eligibility letter soon. :)

Congratulations. How long did you wait for your eligibility from WA APHRA ?
hey UR24! :) as u were saying WA would process faster than the other states and when I get my eligibility may I take my BP in other state or should it be in WA too? What are the requirements that I have to submit? I would appreciate your input. How long is the waiting time too? ty.
As I've already mentioned in my previous post, you can apply for registration/eligibility to WA and take the bridging program and work in another state/territory because registration from one state is recognized all over Australia.
In my experience, I submitted my application to WA and received eligibility in just one month and a half that includes the mailing so its just about a month actually. Unlike other states like Vic or NSW that takes several months to process your application and requires submission of other requirements not specified in the application form like employment offer. With WA, I just submitted the docs and after one or two weeks received an email that they received all my docs and I'll just have to wait for their decision.
Now, I'm about to take my BP in CON in Burwood, NSW and hopefully pass the bp and work there also.
