New to CNA job

Hello,

I'm very new in the nursing field. Id like to find out what's the advantage/disadvantage for working part-Time in nursing homes vs full-time? If p/t Can you choose a certain days when to work or not to available for work? Or do you have to work on the days the employer wants you to work? Please advice....

Well, it all depends on the needs of the facility. Most facilities I've worked for are (4)days on (2) days off or Mon-Fri or PRN, just depends on the area in which you work. You would want to ask to be sure tho! Full-time in a nursing home is usually 30-40 hours per week, 80 per period/two-weeks ,part time is basically 15-25 a week, 30-40 per period. The advantage of full time of course, is you are able to gain a full paycheck mostly without any over time. Part-time however, you aren't working as many hours so your check will be small. Another thing with part-time is, they may or may not allow you to pick up days because it may put you into full-time hours. : ) I hope I could be of some help!

I am confused....in other posts you are a new CNA but also state you have taken the NCLEX LPN. You state you have refused a patient assignment and want to know about abandonment laws for CNA's. Then talk about nurses being stupid and that you failed you NCLEX.

It is helpful to be forthcoming with the membership who is ready to help you.
