  1. I'm pretty much limited with ADL'S at this point. I also have myositis so I'm inflamed a lot! Thank you for your words : )
  2. I live a pretty tough state. Where darn near everything, requires some kind of degree or certificate. I However, the childcare jobs haven't been too legit here lately. But, school is definitely on my to-do list. I'm feeling like giving up.
  3. Where I live, medication aide is a hard catch. Due to the high volume of LPN'S in LTC, and other places, that hasn't even been considered as an option. However, I would like to find something less challenging on the body. I thank you for your kind words.
  4. You're correct. It's like telling a person no matter what you do, nothing is that demanding. Not to mention the shifts! ugh I'm telling you! What must we do for the clueless??
  5. Exactly! I can't explain myself enough. I'm 30 btw. However, I've been a CNA for almost 12 years. I have degenerative disc disease, and spinal stenosis. I'm so tired physically, and the negatives aren't helping one bit!
  6. I have done that BUT, not many hire CNA's here. I'm really starting to just give up.
  7. After I've worked my butt off!! Why do people feel that CNA is a job you can compare to other jobs? It seems as if, I always have to explain how hard this job is! Or explain to people that our work never ends. My parents continuously ask me why I'm so tired. They feels as if they work just as hard or harder. They always want me to come over, and hang out with the family when my body is so beat! I'm expected to be at ALL family events and be up to being gone all day long. They will argue me down, about what I should do on my days off, even the days I do work. I LOVE my family, but there are days when I'm off, I just want to be in my own home. By myself. Has anybody else been through this? Do you go currently go through this? I'm so tired of people feeling as if, we don't work as hard as we say we do. And telling ME that I'm not really as tired as I say!! I need some tips.
  8. Well, it all depends on the needs of the facility. Most facilities I've worked for are (4)days on (2) days off or Mon-Fri or PRN, just depends on the area in which you work. You would want to ask to be sure tho! Full-time in a nursing home is usually 30-40 hours per week, 80 per period/two-weeks ,part time is basically 15-25 a week, 30-40 per period. The advantage of full time of course, is you are able to gain a full paycheck mostly without any over time. Part-time however, you aren't working as many hours so your check will be small. Another thing with part-time is, they may or may not allow you to pick up days because it may put you into full-time hours. : ) I hope I could be of some help!
  9. I am a CNA of 11 years. I have degenerative disc disease, and it's getting harder and harder to perform the tasks associated with being a CNA. I really need help!! If anyone else has had to deal with this or, any have information to help me with my next step would be greatly appreciated!
