New Chamberlain Campus in Houston

U.S.A. Texas

Published

I'm curious if anyone is attending the first cohort for the new Chamberlain campus (which starts in Feb, I think)? I've never given this school much thought before today when I heard an ad on the radio. I didn't realize we had a campus opening here. It looks way too expensive for me but I am curious how this school is viewed in general... I noticed that it's part of the DeVry system which kind of knocks it down a few pegs I think.. (Not the most respected name in universities)...

But there are pluses.. one being it's one more nursing school out there to apply to. ;)

What are your thoughts/experiences with this institution? (Other campuses, obviously;)

I have an appointment on Thursday 6/23 with Jay at Chamberlain, I've already faxed them over my transcripts for review and this summer I am taking Chemistry at HCC. I just wanted to ask you what to expect? I'm curious to know if they will accept all or most of my completed classes, I will have my AS complete this summer. Can you tell me what they look for in an applicant? How difficult is it to get accepted into their BSN program? I know the cost is high! but I'm willing to pay the high cost just to get my nursing degree, this is something I've wanted for so long. Any advice would be helpful!!

Thanks

In response to RN2BE1DAY,

Getting into their BSN program is not difficult, there are not any prerequisites required to start so it is a plus that you have some of them finished, because that means shorter time to complete the program. As long as you pass the HESI exam with an overall score of 75 and meet their gpa requirment it is basically like being pre-accepted. I have 2 weeks until school starts and I am getting more and more excited as the days are going by. Feel free to email me @ msward198&@yahoo.com. I am sure you will get into Chamberlain, and I know the cost is high but they have scholarships avaliable for students. :redpinkhe

I am currently attending Chamberlain College of Nursing online completing my BSN. I researched it throughly before deciding on a school. I will be done with the program in October and have nothing but good things to say about this school. Yes it is expensive but it has allowed me to work while making the transition from RN to BSN.

JJRN09, I am very interested in Chamberlain's program. I want to make sure that i can afford the school financially. Is there a large out of pocket expense for the school and what is a rough estimate of the student loan per semester, if you do not mind sharing?

Thank you!

Im a freshman pre-nursing

Hi, there!

Were you able to fax your high school transcript to Chamberlain? I've been having issues getting my transcripts there. :(

*UPDATES*

How is everyone doing at Chamberlain?? Are you enjoying it?? Did you graduate?? Please update with your experience!! ~TIA~

If you don't mind sharing, what was your GPA and HESI score when applying? I'm waiting to hear back if I've been excepted, just trying to ease my mind. Thank you!

Hi Shelby. I scored 85% on my entrance HESI with a 3.7 GPA. Now that's high school GPA, due to me not having any college credits.

Good luck!!
