New Career and STNA Courses

Published

Hello,

Im 19, and a male living in cleveland ohio. I decided about 1 year ago that being a nurse is the career that I would like to pursue. I like interacting with people and helping them out. Im currently going to a community college and taking just pre-requisite courses. I want to obtain my LPN, however the current predicament that I am in is limiting me to only a few options. I work a full time job, and have to pay rent. I would like to go and get my LPN from college, but I can only go part-time which would mean it would take longer for me to obtain it. If I went to a specific nursing school, they only offer times when I'm not avaliable because I have to be a work. So I recently decided that I would get my STNA and go from their, however i just cant find a specific place that would offer the courses around me. Any of you have any suggestions on where I could go, or whom I can talk to or call to find out who offers STNA courses?

hello, scorpio86 and welcome to allnurses.com

i moved your post to a new thread for a better response. your post was deeply buried within an off-topic thread.

good luck with your new career choice and enjoy the site.

Hi I am in a similiar situation, I'm moving back to Canton, OH from California. I'm not sure about Cleveland but in Canton alot of the nursing homes offer these courses. Check with nursing homes in your area and also maybe call a hospital or two. Let me know what you find out

Hope it helps,

Tiffany

Try Nursing Homes... I live in Streetsboro (a little south of Cleveland) and I've found a NH that will provide the classes and pay for the state test w\o having to sign a contract. The only catch to this is that its a two week program from 7a-4p. I dont know if you have flexible shifts or not? I don't, so when I enter the program I will have to quit my job and start working there. Do you got to Tri-C? That's where I'm going right now, taking pre-req's also. I also live on my own and have to worry about rent, so I can understand the type of situation your in.... Good luck!!!

God Bless,

I see this was posted a few months ago but if you are still looking, try the Red Cross in Cleveland. I was in the same predicament last year (work full-time during the week) and they have a weekend STNA class.
