New CA RNs, how long did it take to receive your permanent license in the mail?

I found out that I passed NCLEX from CA BRN website on July 14. I was wondering how long it usually takes to receive a CA permanent RN license in the mail? Please share your experience.

I received my pocket license about 8 days after I took the NCLEX. I just received my RN Certificate and info on license renewal yesterday (exactly 2 weeks after I took NCLEX). Hope this helps! Congrats!

Oh, and I live right around the Sacramento area so that may be a reason why it was so quick.

Specializes in Tele,CCU,ER.

I live in LA and I got it in 6 days!!! wow! I got my certificate in two weeks...

I took my test July 18

Found out online that i was issued a license on July 29, but found out on July 30 (since they post early in the morning for the day before)

Received the card on August 2.

So I guess 4 days!!

When I showed my dad that I got my card, he mistook it for a "credit card" and asked me, "whats the credit limit on that" ????:chuckle

Got my license in the mail 2 weeks after I took the exam.

Specializes in ICU, ED.

It took about 4 weeks to process the paperwork and issue temp licence. However when I recieved it in the mail, it expires in over a year instead of the 6 months a temp license did. So I checked online, and I guess what I have now is my permanent (i verified myself on the BRN site) So get all your stuff in quickly!
