1. No, actually I had my job lined up 3 months prior to graduation
2. Your CNA experience will probably be taken into account, if it's a unit similar to what you're applying to, or if there are many applicants for the same job. It certainly won't hurt
3. Don't know what NET is so I guess I didn't take it.

my number 2 question should of read will having cna/mst background help as far as getting into nursing school?
the net exam is the nurse entrance test that my school requires you to pass to be considered for the program, its a sat type test that tests math,verbal skills
Welcome into the allnurses family. As far as the cna, education is NEVER wasted so it probably will be a plus at your school intervew. The NET is still being used? WOW I took the NLN back in the 60s. I assume it's a similar test? I actually waited until I know I had passed the board before looking for a job.

i have been a cna for about 8-9 yrs and a mst since 2005.
i am currently getting ready to go through the application process for LPN school here.
a few questions
1. did you find it hard to find a job when you were fresh out of nursing school ?
2. will my previous cna experience be taken into account at all during the application process.
3. how long did you study for the NET exam before you took it?
