New arrival in Phoenix!!!!!

Dear All,

My fiancee and myself have just landed jobs in Phoenix. We should be there within the month - hooray!!!!

Can anyone give me some info regarding any the following list of queries? I am trying to be as prepared as possible for when we arrive.

List of queries

1) what neighbourhoods (or rental agents) should I look at (quiet, houses rather than apartments, good restaurants nearby etc)

2) how much is taken from your pay in taxes etc.

3) what is a reputable car dealer to visit

4) is car insurance expensive

Any other info would be most welcome.

I live at the Reflections on Camelback. Nice apts, reasonable price. I ride my bike to work during the winter months. Only a 20 minute ride. Lots of nurse live in our complex. I have a couple who are neighbors from the UK as well. You do need to shop around in the area as some neighborhoods can be not so nice. Our complex is gated and i feel quite secure there.

Did I mention the pub arcross the street? Oreganos is close for walking for pizza and beer as well.

Oreganos is awesome. A must try is the pazukki (sp?), which is an oversized freshly baked chocolate chip cookie with ice cream on top. We were in Flagstaff this last weekend and had one at the NAU location.

spinaato's pizza! they have this awsome spinach pizza, i order it with fresh garlic, and is is soooooo good! by-far my favorite pizza!
