You need to ge the CES completed first. Each applicant will be different, there are many factors involved.

And every single applicant will be different. You base your application on the state where you wish to work, not a time table.

i see, i plan to work in nevada though i'm no sure how long the ces would take though, i hope it's less than 6 mos...

it usually doesn't take that long. applying directly to where you want to work is the rule of thumb w/ the excemption of ca.

you may ask cgfns directly for the info you want. that would be best i think. in their website, it says there 5-6 weeks before. try checking it out if it's still that way.

but as what suzanne said it would be a case to case basis. lots of factors to consider.

You may ask CGFNS directly for the info you want. That would be best I think. In their website, it says there 5-6 weeks before. Try checking it out if it's still that way.
But as what Suzanne said it would be a case to case basis. Lots of factors to consider.

now i know that you have to request it from them.

about the ces, for the validations part, i have to file it in prc but they request a license number which i don't have yet. so will this delay my ces process since i'll have to wait for my license #?

I understand from here that if the state BON doesn't require your local license, you don't have to send that cgfns license validation form to prc. When you apply for a ces, inform cgfns that the report recipient BON does not require your local license.

If it's any concern to you, I just want to share an info I heard that NV BON strictly requires a US SSN before issuing a license. Applicant (after passing nclex) receives a letter that failure to submit SSN to the bon within one year counted from application date (not from date of passing nclex), he needs to submit anew application, fingerprints and fees. You might want to check this out with the bon.

Again the big issue is that you took the NLE exam, a local license is not needed, but if you take the exam, then you need to submit a license number. Currently, there is no legal proof that you passed that exam, as PRC is not issuing licenses right now. This is what is going to cause you issues.

There would have been not one issue if the exam was not done in the first place.

And you do not put that the recipient BON does not require a local license. The CES can always be used by more than one state.

No, they don't need your local license. If you apply to CES through their website, you have to send them a written letter explaining why you did not take the local exam. HOWEVER, if you get one of their application packets. It won't delay the process so don't worry. Just go to PRC and they will know what to do.

Another thing, you need to get the english exam too. Better be prepared for it. Nevada is more expensive than California so I'm wondering why you want to take the Nevada application? If you intend to live in Nevada, you can still apply for California, take your nclex and apply for Nevada by endorsement. It only takes a few weeks, and you don't need to take your TOEFL anymore, nor apply for the CES thing. It's cheaper and less complicated. I'm kind of suffering from my decision to apply in nevada right now..
