Hello! I apologize if this has been asked before. My question may be too specific, any help is appreciated. I am graduating from a Nevada school in a week (BSN) and have started my application for licensure for California. My school doesn't require an Oral Communications class- so I didn't take it. I wonder if this could potentially be a problem? Has anyone here from an NV school successfully transitioned to California? Thank you!

That's definitely not too specific and is a good question. I graduated from Roseman University in Henderson 2.5 years ago. I just received my CA nursing license through endorsement on 12/31/20. About a week ago, LOL.
I did not have an oral communications class and it wasn't even questioned. I know there is a list of courses they say they require, but not having it didn't hurt me at all.
Also, drive to California to do the Live Scan fingerprinting. Don't do the hard card! It takes forever. If you are in Las Vegas, drive to Barstow to get it done.

Did the process of receiving your CA license take 2.5 years? or did you apply to it not to long ago? How long was the process from when you first applied to getting your CA license?

I was wondering if you ever received your endorsement license? I’ve applied for licensure by endorsement to Cali 2 weeks ago d/t being a spouse about to relocate (PCS) with my military husband. The only deficiency I’m sure I will have is Microbiology with lab d/t the fact that VA didn’t require me to take that course and maybe oral communication but I did take composition 1 class a long long time ago. I recently took the RN NCLEX back in July 2020 after being an LPN since 2013. I’m getting anxious because we are scheduled to move on July 8 and was hoping I would get my endorsement license by then. However, I’m just learnt of these requirements that I may or may not need. I seen on about post that they are still waving requirements. Not sure if it’s true tho. Thank you for your response in advance.
