Problems after brain surgery

  1. Hi, I'm 30 years old and just had my 8th brain surgery last week to revise my VP shunt. After surgery I'm always a tad depressed for about a week, but it's never a big deal. This time it's like a thousand times worse, and I'm wondering if this is a problem and should my surgeon be made aware? Thanks in advance.

We cannot give medical advice, it's against the Terms of Service. However, if you feel something is not right, give your surgeon a call. Better to notify them and have it be nothing, than to leave it and have it be something.

I understand the legalities of not being able to give medical advice. I'm four hours away from my surgeon. There aren't even any neurosurgeons in my area. I'm on a limited income, and before my husband has to miss work and we make the drive up there, I just want to know if it's a validated reason, or if I'm making something out of nothing. My apologies.

You need to call the surgeon's office. As they are the ones who have access to your medical records and know you, they are the ones you need to direct your questions to.

    Excellent advice is given above.
You know yourself and your physician will have all your records.
Please call, and I wish you improved health and well-being.
