I'm happy with the score. I got a 100% on the math and a 80% on the reading comp. So composite was like a 90%.

I want to try and retake it and see if I can improve my reading comp score. But my school only lets you take it 2 times. We'll see...I guess I can study more, but there is only so much to study for the reading comp.

wow you did good!!!! I got mine today

English was 60 and math 100... so average was like 80... DO you know if they look at the average or individual scores? I do not think I will get it.. I am sooo stressed!!! :bluecry1:

They look at the composite score which is at the bottom of the letter.

The reading comp is so hard, I've never been good at those type of questions.

Are you going to retake it?

are you saying that they look ONLY at composite score... so if I got 60% on English but composite of 80% would they even look at my application???? IF ANYONE READING THIS KNOW and knows, PLEASE LET ME KNOW :rolleyes:

CAN ppl please tell me what NET scores they got IN TO SMC... sorry i am a bit stressed out here. :banghead:

Well I'm sure they look at the other scores, but I believe that the composite score is the one that matters.

This is what the SMC nursing website says:

Nurse Entrance Test (NET) scores must be received by the preferred application date. Competitive minimum scores on the NET are a Math score of 60 or better and a Reading score of 70 or better. Higher scores will result in a more competitive application. Please note that minimum scores are subject to change.

I'm not sure when they will let people know because I didn't apply yet. I'm planning on applying for the March 1st and July 1st deadline. I am actually going to meet with Liza next tuesday at the SMC campus in Sacramento to go over my transcripts and stuff. I'll ask her about the NET score and what scores they look at in deciding what students to admit :nuke:

I was wondering how your meeting with Liza went? I just took the NET yesterday at SMC in Oakland, and was wondering if you got to ask her about what score they'll look at in determining competitiveness? Also, did you find out anything interesting, like: How many applicants? How many get in?, etc....

I'm soooo dreading to see how I did on the NET. I too, do well in math, as for reading comp, I never know until I see the results. :bugeyes: :confused: :thnkg:

The appointment with her went good. I had received a 90 on my NET score and was wondering if I should retake it. She said no because anything above an 80 competitive. And they are looking at your composite score, although it does ask on the application to list both your math and reading score. I did ask her about applicants vs getting in for the Sacramento location. She said about 130-145 applied (I forgot the exact #) and about 30-32 got in. So that's a pretty good chance, considering some people end up going to other schools, can't afford it, don't get all the classes completed, etc. She went over the application with me and the questions that needed to be answered.

What location are you looking to apply for? I am waiting until the July 1st deadline for Sacramento 2010. Although I could try for S.F November 2009, but I'd rather wait 2 months and hope I get in for Sacramento.

It took me about 2 weeks for me to get my NET scores!! I kept checking the mail and finally when I was out of town they arrived.

Hmmm...I can't really think of anything else that she went over. She just filled out the prerequistes I had finished on this sheet and that was about it.
