Hi everyone,
I live in the UK and I'm a 3rd year student nurse and I'm almost qualified, I have applied for a staff nurse position on a neonatal unit, and if I'm lucky enough to get it I hope to continue on to do a post graduate qualification in neonatal nursing while working in this area, Ive always wanted to work in this area and actually applied to do my midwifery training before my nurse training, unfortunatly there were not enough places,
any advice would be appriciated

You need 10-15 posts in order to PM someone, I believe.

You need 15 or more posts to be able to send a pm. May want to think about posting something in the UK forum UK forum
Hi meg,
how did your interview go?
Didn't get the job too many people applied with more experience.... not sure what to do now??, how do I get the experience?
try speaking to NICU manager's (or education team if units have one) and see when their intake of new staff is. better still ask for an informal interview and take along a CV. i take it you're on RN paeds course?
Hi, no I'm doing the adult branch nursing, I was planning to go on to do my midwifery training...now I'm seriously considering it!! as I cant do a neonatal post grad degree unless I get a job on one I think i will either do my midwifery or peads and then hopefully go into neonatal?? this also has the advantage of being dual qualified..Ive been offered a job on orthopedics but really don't fancy this area
come on over to Liverpool
I would if you could offer me a job!, it would mean moving my family so may take a bit of consideration.....hmm.... how long does it take to commute from Leeds to Liverpool!?
too long!!!! about 1.5 hours each way i think. what about central manchester? they've just opened a new paeds unit and expanded their NICU
