NELRP is there a thread?

Is there already a thread for RNs waiting to hear about awards from the Nursing Education Loan Repayment Program?

When I search, I can only find previous year's threads.

It has been under review since at least March, but I'm thinking that it was sooner than that.

ekelme33: mine still says submitted as well. I'm not sure why.

Well at least you see some activity on your end! I feel like the pit in my stomach keeps getting bigger and bigger every day. I'm trying to stay positive, but at the same time I need to prepare myself in case I get bad news again. I am very happy for everyone receiving good news though! What a great feeling to have! We have all worked so hard to get where we are today. We have all chosen a profession to help others for the rest of our working lives. We all deserve this!

There is one thing in this whole process that frustrates me. I really wish that during the application process that we could contact an actual inside person with questions. Since many of my initial loans were from the late 90's, early 2000's, it was a really difficult process tracking down the initial paperwork (as many of you know probably). Then some info within the initial loans was slightly different than what was found within the disbursement report from the National Student Loan Data System (like actual initial loan amounts and even a few dates were off by a day or two). When calling the customer care reps , they could only help me with so much, and none of them could even give me a clear cut answer. I really think we should be able to speak with someone who does have something to do with the actual decision process prior to the application deadline. I have heard that some applications get turned down because of simple mistakes like that. But then how would it really be MY mistake when I was looking for answers that nobody could even answer for me?

Thanks for letting me vent!

Any RN's receive an email yet??

Tier 1, 158% ratio... No email.

I am a RN as well .. No email yet tier 1 I believe, 200% ...

My hospital was tier 1 but their primary score went down to tier 2 but their mental health score is in 1 still I called and a rep said they go by the higher of the two anyone know anything about that or how reliable the phone reps are?

ekelme33,

I totally agree with you! I called before starting my application because I wanted to make sure I'm eligible because it says if you're on-call, casual, float pool, etc that you're not eligible. I explained that I am in a float pool, but that I am a 0.8 FTE. They initially told me I was ineligible due to being in the float pool, but after explaining again that I am not "casual" and am required to work a scheduled 0.8, they said I'm eligible. Frustrating!

I believe they go by the higher score because some facilities only have one. I think my post above shows how reliable they are. I've also heard from last year's thread that applicants got different answers to the same question, depending on the rep they spoke to.

I think if you are in the running, they will clarify. I have been contacted a couple of times by email because of paperwork things. I think they have a group of people that go through and make sure all paperwork is correct. I had to submit corrected things immediately or I think I would have gotten put back in a pile for someone else. So, I know for sure that they contact you about things like that or at least they did mine. The person that was working on my information had no information on what tier I was in so it must move through different people for different processes. Does that make any sense??? I am NP, family practice, rural health clinic, 141%.....I did get the email for banking information and things and am just praying all goes well!!! I qualified last year but they ran out of funds....I'm talking to much...right... I think someone said they had like 8000 applications???? That's a whole lot of nurses!!!! Even though I have been contacted, I look at this site everyday.....hoping for people to hear......praying for people to hear. We all know that we made the right decision to become nurses and help people when we see the smile on someone's face that we have helped and we don't expect anything in return......it's a feeling that can't be explained and this whole repayment program is like a blessing that was never thought of in the whole process of becoming who we are!!!! Sorry guys.....but I just think that really GOOD people become nurses:nurse:

I think it is the higher score too, just from the things I've read

Thanks for the info! I never thought this would be so nerve racking. I thought waiting two days for my nclex score was bad that was nothing! Praying we all hear good news so happy for those who are seeing some action. Hope my user review changes soon!

Hey guys, could someone direct me on how to check the status of my application? This is my first attempt on getting the grant. Im a newbe.

Go to the portal at https://programportal.hrsa.gov/

Good luck!

Thanks a bunch. My status shows "under review". Is that the first status?
