Nurses General Nursing

Has anyone started to apply for the Nurse Corps loan repayment program? I wanted to see if anyone is having trouble using the application at all?

I got a notice yesterday that my credit report had an inquiry from" Dept of Heal." Fingers crossed!

Which credit bureau did it flag it through? I will check tomorrow, though I doubtful.

Awesome for you though !!!

Credit Karma didn't specify, just listed the Dept of Heal(th) as a government agency.

I got a notification that a credit check had been done today by "Dept if Health". I read thru the posts from NERLP 2013 and saw this was a step in the right direction. It's so hard not to get your hopes up.. I know we are ALL deserving of this.. There are just too many of us! Lol. I think the next step is just to check your email for updates from the [email protected] I think. the one time in my life I wish time would fast forward to May/June when it seems like a lot of RNs started getting emails. best of luck to all!!

Cad09, do you mind sharing your facility score and loan/income percentage?

I'm hoping the credit check is a step in the right direction for all of us!

RN, Tier 1, 160%

What kind of debt is 160? Unless I am doing the calculation wrong, it's showing 66%, which is approx $30,000.

I am also at a tier 1 facility.

I am not enrolled in a credit monitoring website, so I suppose I will keep checking the website.

Everyone keep us updated, good luck to all.

I thought the calculation was:

qualified student loans/salary x100= debt to income percentage

Dividing your total loan amount by your income will give you a number that can be expressed as a percentage. For example, if you make 40k per year and have 80k in student loans, you could say yours is 200%, meaning you have twice as much debt as your annual income.

I also applied and did not receive an award. Very disappointing. Last year I applied about 10 days before deadline so I'm hoping that had something to do with it. I also want to know how early those that received the award applied. Good luck to us!

I received the award last year, and I submitted my application on the day before closing due to how long it took to submit all the information. I don't think it has to do with how early you apply. More about your loan amount, salary, and facility score.

What is your facility score, Micah?

The time it takes them to sift through all the applications only seems to add to the stress!

Is it supposed to make a difference if you apply early or right up to the deadline? I assumed it didn't, but does anyone know if you have a better shot the earlier you apply?
