Does anyone know if I did not get an email does that mean I have no chance at an award. Just frustrated because my debt to income ratio is only 80% but I am in northern California and I'm still living pay check to pay check. Do they consider cost of living when they make award decisions?

I hope not. I have not received a letter or email. My debt to income ration is over 150% and I work at a DSH.

NELRP thanks for all your post on This board. They have given me hope, despite my frustration. I am not yet at 15 post so I can't PM please let me know if there is another way to contact you... Otherwise I'll wait til I am at 15 or get my letter. Thanks again!!!!

so, after reading how so many people recieved their letters on 8/2/2011, i proceeded to check my email archives and found "the email!" does anyone know how stringent they are on late faxed return froms? i wrotes a letter with it explaining my situation and hoping for their mercy...

how do you check your email archives? is it this like your spam folder? i want to look back as well. also has anyone received an official letter that says "no"? i am getting anxious and would like to know either way.

maybe he meant to say a couple of weeks instead of days? maybe this week or next? i counted that we only have 36 days left that the mail runs to be notified so they better get on the ball. i am going to predict that we will hear the first rounds of whoohoo's next tues? any guesses out there??????

Do you know if everyone has been notified if they are a recipient? My friend called NELRP today and they said the last batch of letters will be mailed out today.........

I'm confused...so do you guys think thats its safe to assume if you havent received an email by now there is no point in waiting..?

My friend called today and they said the last batch of letter went out today.....I don't know if those people have recieved emails but I haven't :uhoh3:

All,
I just found this blog by referral earlier today (just before we had an earthquake and our buidling shook!!! - must be an omen!! Our building was closed so I am chiming in from home just to try to settle, calm and set expectations). I am very distressed to see how many of you hardworking nurses are totally stressed over our inability to communicate more effectively - there are very few of us and over 8000 of you so please be patient and try to understand. I know this is a lifeline for many of you and your families. And please, I am here trying to help, so please don't take me to task if you were not among those we were able to fund or I cannot answer your questions quickly or to your satisfaction. I am doing this on my own and without asking for approval (and honestly not sure it is even a good door to be opening) so please don't get me fired!!
So we just exhausted our funding last Friday and the first start date for this fiscal year was Monday 8/22. We are legislatively bound to hold the award letters and contracts until the first date of service (I am personally guilty of having erroneously told some of you they would be out earlier - I am very sorry for this as it increased everyone's expectation and stress!!) so the first batch of letters went out in the mail yesterday. There are many, many more with start dates in the future (8/29 being the next) and, again, the letters will go out on the day service starts and the contract becomes effective. Please remember if you are awarded - first payments are made ONE MONTH IN ARREAR - that means none of you will see a deposit until September at the earliest.
Now that I know about this blog I will do what I can to monitor it and respond if appropriate. I joined because I could only recognized a very few RNs by their handles on this blog or I would have started making calls to the most stressed first, but short of that I will try to answer as many questions as possible. I have not figured out how to send private messages yet (this is my first and probably most important post) but if you know how to get to me please do.
Be well, be patient and lots of 'deep cleansing breaths'. I fully understand how hard this is and how important this funding is to your lives.

I just found this blog.......about 3 hours ago and have been reading ever since.....I have not received an email or a letter:(((( Since this is the last day to be notified, I am sure I am not on the list......but this is something that I did not pray for because I had prayed the whole time I was in school just to make it through, and I did and I felt bad to keep praying for more and more. God has allowed me to make it through school and I have a great job, a ton of debt but a great job.....I get to help people.....really help people every day.....I have been a nurse for 24 years and climbed up the ladder in school while raising kids and I made it.......I guess to get to my point, my friend called nelrp today and they said the last batch of letters were mailed out today........would you have had to receive an email to be on that list? Thanks and congratulations to everyone!
