Hello Everyone,
I am going to apply for NELRP for 2010. I am getting married in June '10. I am wondering if when I apply, will they look at my debt to income ratio or that of me and my husbands combined income once we are married, since we are getting married in the middle of the application process. If anyone knows I would love to know. My debt to income ratio by my self is 268%, but much less with my fiances income added. Right now I live with my parents and am struggling to pay my loans.
Thanks,
Sarah
I have a question, when those of you get emails for verification of loans, or verify employment, did you fail to put those items in your application? If they have verfiied all your info (loans, work, position) from the information in the packet what info are they asking for. Also last year they collected bank data, some folks said last year they did not get any feedback, money just showed up in their account. Has anyone just had the money just show up in their accounts without any notice this year?
Just wondering if there is any rhyme or reason how this process is carried out.
Congrats to everyone that has received their acceptance letters and deposits! :yeah:Still waiting patiently to hear some good news....
I'm about 150% and am working as a public school nurse. I've been following the thread and can see most of you all work for DHS. I was wondering if anyone knows of or is also a school nurse that has received loan forgiveness through NELRP?
Good luck to all of us still waiting ~ we have until the end of Sept.
Cross your fingers!
just wanted to answer some of your questions... first i got a phone call to do a 3-way call w/ chase to verify the student loan amounts with them. then a few weeks later (july 31st) i got an email... it asks you if you're still interested, has you go onto this website to enter your bank account information, and also asks you to fax back (within 24 hours!) the following: NELRP Verification and Acceptance or Decline of Award Form and the NELRP Contract. it sounds like about a month after that happens you (hopefully) get a letter in the mail. that's where i stand now...
this is pretty typical according to what i've read on this thread and what i've read on the NELRP 2009 thread.
hope this answers at least some of your questions!

Everyone who got acceptance letters, check your accounts today. I got my deposit! Whoo hoo! Also, it would be wise to pay the higher interest loans first than the lower ones.
