NELRP 2009

I applied for the 2009 NELRP. I did not expect to hear from HRSA until September (IF I received an award). However, I was contacted by HRSA yesterday (June 15, 2009). They asked me to obtain pay off information for a few of my loans --- they had been unsuccessful with getting the info for those loans on their own, but did get the pay off amounts on other loans.

I asked the HRSA representative if this was a "good sign" and she responded that she could not confirm funding, but I am a "first funding preference" and "within range" (I think most who apply are "within range").

Questions: Has anyone else heard from HRSA this early?

Thanks!

Michele

No letter today... but I did get desperate for any positive sign and check my credit score- it looks like HRSA made a credit inquiry in July so I'm going to take that as a good sign. Good luck everyone!:D

Which Credit burea??

It was Experian that they inquired with, but a found a website called identity guard where you can check all three credit companies with a 30day free trial.

Also, it looks like the last group of people to get awards got them all on the same day, so let me know if you get a letter! I'm praying for all of us left to get an award!!!

Got my letter in the mail today!!!! :yeah:I am so excited can't stop smiling. Good luck to all of you who are still waiting.

Hello Everyone,

I am going to apply for NELRP for 2010. I am getting married in June. I am wondering if whe I apply, will thy look at my debt to income ratio or that of me and my husbands combined income once we are married, since we are getting married in the middle of the application process. If anyone knows I would love to know. My debt to income ratio by my self is 268%, but much less with my fiances income added. Right now I live with my parents and am struggling to pay my loans.

Thanks,

Sarah

Divide total of student loans by your annual salary then convert to a percentage. Ours is 166% debt to income ratio. What type of program are you starting in the Fall? Nursing or graduate school? Good Luck!!:nurse:

I have a question for you. I am getting married in the middle of the application process for 2010, but after it is due. Will they look at my debt to income ratio of the income of my fiance and I combined since we will be married in June 2010?

Hey there,

No frets!! They will only look at your debt to income ratio. Thank goodness for that! We got it this year. Yea! Good luck for next year!

If I am first preference funding, do they just go by your debt to income ratio? My ratio is 285%. From looking around this site, I think that will be high enough if thats the case...?
