Basically my mom's Hip broken due to her radiation and chemo.
She is healthy but unable to do many things.
She lives in GA and needs a live in nurse because she does not want to go to a nursing home.
Does medicaid cover this?
Where do I apply and get this from?
Any information would be great.
Again she does not want to go into a nursing home.

Roger, I live in GA and the answer is NO, medicaid will not cover a live-in. Depending on the type of medicaid your mother has, she may qualify for CCSP services which depending on your need will provide someone to sit with your mother, assist with ADLS, cook and do light housekeeping. However, they rarely provide more than 5-10 hours/week of this service and every county has a waiting list.
You should contact your local DFCS office, I'm surprised this was not discussed prior to her discharge from the hospital. She may not want to go to a nursing home but she should probably go to a SNF for rehab for a few weeks. Good luck, it's tough out there.

Where we live, it is $1500 in total assets, not just what's in your bank account. You cannot own a home or a car worth more than that. So to qualify for medicaid, you have to sell your home and use all the money to pay for medical expenses, etc.
