I have to get a hep b, Varicella and TB blood test. Maybe have to get a MMR unless by records are accepted. Any advice on how i can do this without spending too much. I called around and since i don't have insurance its close to $750.00. I can't afford this right now. Anyone else had to deal with this as well?
For the person that suggested Any Lab Test, I did call but they were expensive and far away. I found a company online called Labreqs.com
The AnyLabTestNow now is 30 minutes away from us, and "expensive" can be relative. i.e. $49 for a Varicella Titer might be economical for some, and expensive for others. I'm happy you found something that worked, and I'm also glad you shared the info about Labreqs.com as they do appear to be more economical than AnyLabTestNow.
I am uninsured but I found a low-income, sliding scale clinic. It's 20+ miles away and out of town, but it was 100% worth the trip because I had 5 or 6 titers run and a TB test performed for $110. I was missing no vaccines. Anywhere else would have charged at least $500 for this. Google low income clinics in your area and see what comes up.
Try a Health Department in your city. Its usually much cheaper!
If you're lucky enough to get in touch with yours. I spent three days calling every single extension within my local health department and not one person answered, no matter what time of day it was. Was not even a voicemail box to leave a message.
Udate: I received my results this morning within 24 hours from Labreqs.com. I'm so glad because until i got the lab orders and talked to them, i thought it might be a scam. Too good to be true plus I had never heard of ordering blood test online.
The school does provide a tb test but I did have to get an MMR titer. When I ordered it through Labreqs.com, I got an email letting me know they would just add it to my previous order. Since it uses the test us the same collection tube, i wouldn't have to get blood drawn again. Lowest Price and i don't have to make a special trip to get blood drawn again, i'm a huge fan now. I emailed them to see i could share the code and they it would be ok to share also long I provided a positive reviews of their company. Saves 16% so every bit helps. Code "nurse2016" .
I was in the same bind, but since I needed an exam too, I called around. I want to add for anyone else in this predicament that I found the cheapest to be going through the local corporate medical facility's occupational health division. I am getting my exam, MMR titer, Varicella titer, Hepatitis B vaccination series of 3, and tetorifice vaccine for $388. It is a bit steep, but competitively not bad. I also had problems reaching my local health department.

I believe the TB test can be as low as $5 in some state health clinics, a Hepatitis, MMR, Varicella and Tdap (if needed) can run $40-$50 (and titers) at a local lab testing site (i.e. AnyLabTestNow or a 'chain' lab testing company). There usually is no 'wait' while at a state clinic you may have to wait 1-2 months for an appointment, plus all the paperwork, hoops to jump through.
