Hello to all;
I am currently enrolled in the University of Wyoming RN-BSN online program. Doing the prerequisities, patho etc.....one of the classes that they didn't accept has been my math classes from kent state university, they UWYO say that I need a college algebra class. Problem is taking an online algebra class. Many college want your act/sat score (I am over 40 never took them) or they want a placement exam, hello!!!!!! Distance education student here.
So, if anyone knows of a on-line college algebra course or has anyone taken the CLEP exam for algebra, how did it go???? That is another option for me.
UWYO so far so good, very low tuition!!!!!!!!

I would just CLEP it if I were you. I am. I just need to CLEP it before I start my program in fall. I took a look at the study guide and it is really easy and CLEP tests are cheap. I would recommend you have your admissions office let you know which algebra CLEP test to take and make sure they accept it because not all colleges do. I know, its sooooo silly to want placement tests, etc when you've been out of school for so long. I'm 34 and I had to kick up quite a fuss to be exempted from some placement tests.

Thanks for your reply. Its looking like I will need to do the CLEP, my program at UWYO will accept the CLEP Exam. I may even post a notice at the local jr college to hire a tutor.
Good luck to you in your studies.
