need a nurse manager to interview for school paper

So my leadership and management class this semester is online and appears to be modeled more for RN-BSN students than us accelerated BSN students with no nursing jobs. We have to write a paper about interviewing our current or past manager. Which I don't have in the healthcare world. I could probably get away with just making responses up but I figured it'd be easier for me to ask here for a nurse manager willing to take part in a short interview about their views on management and leadership. I'd just be looking for some basic info about what your position is, the type of environment you work in (medsurg floor of large metro hospital vs. OB at small rural hospital), how long you've been in management, etc. then answering some questions.

Help is greatly appreciated, interview would be through PM on this site or through email whichever preferred. I've got a couple weeks before the paper is due so no big rush but finding a subject will probably be the hardest part. Thanks.

You will have no idea if a person does volunteer if they truly are a manager or not... I would suggest asking your professor how you should handle this, explain that you are not and have not ever held a position in healthcare and do not have the resources for this and ask for suggestions. Since this is an accelerated program your professor has surely had this question before or maybe able to clarify to others in your class.

I for one would not participate in a PM or email interview of this type.... part of the interviewing process is learning to take notes in a way that will help you remember and capture the essence of what was said... if I did via typing all you would have to do is copy and paste... I'd basically be doing your homework assignment for you.

Not trying to be rude, but just bringing to light how others might view it so you are aware if you get no offers why that might be.

I would use your potential leadership skills, and seek out a in person, nurse management....call a large clinic, ER, or walk in clinic as urgent care, Don and Adon in snf also potential

I did ask the instructor right after I read the assignment where those of us without previous healthcare experience were supposed to find subjects. Her response was to interview the manager on the unit of our clinical unit. I think that's kind of a ridiculous expectation for the unit managers who could potentially have up to 10 students wanting to interview them. Assuming the manager was willing and had the time in the first place is a biggie. Plus our current rotations are so short our clinical time is better spent actually getting hands on experience on the unit rather than interviewing someone IMO.

For those concerned they are doing the assignment for me you aren't, but I understand the concern. I didn't want to post the prompt for the paper because knowing the full prompt would influence the subjects responses to the questions. The interview is just the base to work off for the paper. What the subject's opinion is on leadership and management challenges compared to what we are learning in the class with sited references to multiple sources is what's required in the paper. Just dictating what information I got from an interview would not get me a passing grade.

Thanks for the feedback, if I don't get any responses I'll figure something out. Was just trying to use the large resource of nurses here to get the needed information in a time efficient way. Doesn't keep any nurse from doing their actual job because the student nurses on their floor have a school assignment and doesn't take away from my limited clinical time in this accelerated program.

No it doesn't take us away from our actual job, where we are compensated... it would take away from our actual life.

Maybe you could offer to buy one of those nurse managers lunch and interview them then... it wouldn't take away from job/clinical time, and they would be getting something in return. Win Win.
