I’m sure many feel the same, but I am so burnt out. I thought school nursing would be the job for me , but it turns out it is not. All the rude parents and staff make me cry multiple times per week. I’ve been a nurse for 8 years and have not liked any job I had. I feel trapped, I spent all this money on nursing school and am miserable. I have a house, 2 kids, and bills to pay . I feel like no one understands me. I tell my husband and he’s like “ well do you think I like my job ?”. Is there any career I can do that doesn’t require  extra schooling, and has comparable pay? I wish I never went into this field. ?

Have you tried insurance companies? I know of nurses who work for insurance companies making $$$, and many work from home.

So sorry you are going through this. I imagine that dealing with some of these parents and kids isn't easy.

you have been a nurse for 8 YEARS. Please for the love of God get out of there! You've earned your right to leave! I mean you could've left a long time ago. I totally understand you. I've only been a nurse for 2 years but I hate it so much. I just started in the NICU but after 6 mo/1 year if I still hate it, I will quit bedside nursing. I am trying to give it a fair shot, but also not letting it ruin me longer than it already has.
