North Glendale, AZ is a nice area too. There are a lot of families in that area. Check out the subdivision that is located on Saddleback..off of North 67th Ave in Glendale.

Hi there. I'm from AZ, have lived there all my life .... going to school in TX now but plan on working in the Phoenix area when I graduate this May.

Like others have mentioned, the Phoenix area is HUGE. I have family all over the valley. We live in Tempe, I think it's a great city to live in. It's close enough to Phoenix if you want to work there and yet you have lower crime and better housing. As far as schooling goes, I think Mesa has one of the best school districts in the valley.

There are tons and tons of new housing developments being built all over the place, you can get a great house at a great price in a more underdeveloped part of the valley, then once you're there for a couple years and the area develops then you can turn around and sell the house for a lot more than you bought it for. That's another option. Only bad thing about that is that you'll have a farther distance to drive since it'd be in an underdeveloped area. But it's an option, there's tons of options.

I hope you're able to find a realtor that can help you find a great house for you and the family! Good luck!

Oh my gosh it is so huge I wouldn't even know where to begin. We are in the far West Valley (Surprise). My dd goes to a charter school though because I hate the school district. But I love the area. It is still semi-rural but there are two hospitals within 15 mins drive and many more accessible with 45 mins. My sister lives in Fountain Hills and thinks it is quite nice. More of a desert landscape there, whereas ours is quite green. She is in the far East Valley. To give you an idea of the distance we are at least an hour away from each other.

Great info!

I looked at the website for Surprise and it seems like a city more than a semi-rural area. Am I right?

Are there any teaching hospitals in the area? I am in Mass working in the Medical ICR at a large university hospital. My pay is great (with night diff in the $42/hr range) as I am in a union hospital.

Cost of living in Mass is great also and know I can make a killing if we sell our house and buy something there like you got...houses look awesome!

So, could you offer any info on the city of Surprise and pay scales? Thanks so much...
