do i need to keep my rn license in az to keep my CA rn license

Hi,

Just want to get an idea/info. I am originally license in AZ where I took the examination. I then obtained a CA RN license thru endorsement. I was able to maintain my CA license since their requirements was to have 30 contact hours before you can renew it. The problem was that I stop working as a nurse for 4 years for some medical issues in the family. New law in Az is that before you can renew your license within 4 yrs you must be working at least 360 hours in nursing whether its bedside or not as long as its nursing related . Now I don't know if I can renew my license in AZ. But I was able to renew the one in CA. My question is " Do I loose my CA rn license since I cannot renew my Az RN license? Hope someone can give me some idea. Just want to maintain both since I worked hard to pass the exam.

No. You can keep the California license and let the Arizona license lapse. As long as you're meeting California's requirements to maintain licensure, you get to keep your California nursing license.
