I have 3 years of experience working in an outpatient setting. I am looking for a change and I really want to become a better nurse. I have applied to a bunch of position with not much response although an ED nurse manager told me to get inpatient experience and come back to her. Manager of an infusion department has asked if I would like a position when she has one available very shortly. I have told her I am interested. However, I worry that if I work in infusions for a while, although I will like it, I will still lack the experience of inpatient nursing. I have put out feelers to a couple of rehabs and they want to interview me. I'm second guessing myself a little. Getting the broader experience for a year or two is the best move, right?
