Apr 28, 2009 I need to know that you are an LPN, working, where you would, what kind of work you do, around about salary, if it was easy to find a job, any other add ons you might have find important to know.I obtained my license in 2006. I work in a hospital clinic making $40,000 a year. I also do per diem work on med-surg and as a vaccination nurse. Did home care as well. I guess it was not hard to get a position because the hospital I worked for as an aide sponsored my education. I was granted tuition pay, leave of absence with full pay, and reimbursement for books to obtain my license. They were obligated to hire me with all of the money they invested in me. Since then, I was able to obtain per diem weekend positions with no problem.
Lexxie, LPN 200 Posts Specializes in LTC, Urgent Care. Apr 29, 2009 I graduated in 2/05 and began working as a GPN in the same facility where I was the receptionist. Due to financial hardships, I did not take boards until 3/06. I worked FT in a LTCF as well as PT in an Urgent care center. I was making approx. $35,000/yr. in LTC and approx. $13,000/yr. in Urgent Care. Prior to starting college this spring, I had looked for a FT job in anything BUT LTC. Lack of experience in any other discipline seems to have hindered my job search. So I continue as only PT at urgent care. It works out well with my class schedule.
